Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tape Edge Operator to join our mattress manufacturing team. The candidate will be responsible for operating tape-edge sewing machines to secure mattress panels and ensure high-quality finishing standards. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Retrieve pre-assembled mattresses from the conveyor line and position them correctly under the tape-edge machine.
- Operate tape-edge sewing machines using knee/foot controls to stitch mattress borders and panels securely.
- Maintain consistent sewing speed and seam quality while applying tape evenly around mattress edges.
- Inspect finished mattresses for defects such as skipped stitches, loose tape, uneven seams, or puckering.
- Perform minor repairs and re-stitching as required to meet quality standards.
- Replace thread and needles and perform basic machine adjustments or lubrication when necessary.
- Maintain production records and quality inspection logs.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the work area.
- Meet daily production targets while ensuring product quality.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Prior experience in mattress manufacturing, upholstery, sewing, or production operations preferred.
- Ability to operate industrial sewing or tape-edge machines.
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move mattresses/materials up to 75 lbs.
- Basic troubleshooting and machine maintenance knowledge.
- Comfortable working in a noisy and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Multilingual communication skills (Tamil, English, or Hindi) are an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in foam, bedding, furniture, or textile manufacturing industries.
- Understanding of production quality standards and workplace safety practices.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
