JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a permanent, full-time School Guidance & Career Counsellor to join our team immediately for the upcoming academic year. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive counseling services supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and career development—helping them navigate the challenges of adolescence while strategically preparing for their higher education futures. The ideal candidate will bridge CBSE and Cambridge (CAIE) frameworks, leverage strong connections with global university representatives and resource personnel, and guide students and families through profile building, subject selection, and domestic and international college admissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- 1-on-1 Guidance & Profile Building: Conduct psychometric assessments, personal aptitude mapping, and individual counselling sessions for students (Grades 9–12) to curate strategic academic and extracurricular portfolios.
- Curriculum-Aligned Academic Mapping: Guide students on subject choices across CBSE and Cambridge (CAIE) to ensure prerequisite compliance for top global and Indian universities.
- Global University Applications & Overseas Placement: Oversee domestic and international admissions (US Common App, UK UCAS, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia), advising on essays, Statement of Purpose (SOP) drafting, recommendation letters, and financial aid options.
- Global Outreach & University Fairs: Leverage an active network of international admission representatives and overseas resource personnel to host campus visits, virtual masterclasses, university fairs, and summer program partnerships in Coimbatore.
- Workshops & Parent Engagement: Organize structured workshops on competitive exams, career trends, and financial planning, ensuring transparent communication with parents.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of dedicated experience as a Career Counsellor in top-tier International Schools.
- Proven experience guiding students within both Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) and CBSE academic systems.
- Demonstrated professional connections with university admissions officers, global education networks, and overseas higher education resource personnel.
- Master’s Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a related field; certified Career Counsellor credentials are highly preferred.
- Strong English communication skills, high emotional intelligence, deep knowledge of global application portals, compelling SOP/essay editing skills, and strong public speaking abilities.
- The ideal candidate must be able to join in a month's time.
