Profile:
As a Quality Manager, ensures all products meet company standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications by implementing quality control systems throughout the manufacturing process. Key responsibilities include inspecting materials, conducting durability tests, managing inspection teams, and reducing product defects. you often analyze customer complaints, improve manufacturing processes, and perform supplier audits, demanding expertise in furniture materials and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control & Assurance: Develop and implement inspection procedures for raw materials (wood, foam, fabric, metal) and finished furniture.
- Production Monitoring: Oversee manufacturing stages, including frame assembly, upholstery, and finishing to ensure compliance with design specs.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct load testing, comfort, and durability testing of furniture products.
- Supplier Audits: Evaluate supplier compliance with quality standards and manage incoming material quality.
- Defect Management: Identify defects, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Team Leadership: Train and guide QC inspectors on quality protocols and best practices.
- Documentation: Maintain reports on quality performance, inspection results, and production issues.
- Final Inspection & Approval: Inspect final furniture products for structural integrity, finishing, and functionality before client shipping, based on approved drawings and standards.
- Client Representation: Act as the technical representative during third-party or client-conducted inspections.
- Defect Handling: Identify, log, and classify defects (e.g., in joinery, upholstery, lacquer, or wood finish), initiating corrective actions with production teams.
- Report Generation: Prepare, maintain, and present detailed QC Inspection Reports and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to clients.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Usually 5+ years of experience in furniture quality control in manufacturing.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of furniture materials (wood, fabric, metal), joinery, upholstery techniques, and finishing.
- Skills: Proficiency with quality management systems, data analysis tools and knowledge of international furniture standards.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to work on the production floor and sometimes handle manual inspection, including lifting.
