Job Summary
The Principal is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the school by ensuring academic excellence, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, staff development, student welfare, and the implementation of CBSE norms and policies.
Key Responsibilities1. Academic Leadership
- Lead curriculum planning and implementation as per CBSE guidelines.
- Monitor teaching-learning processes and improve student outcomes.
- Conduct classroom observations and teacher evaluations.
- Promote experiential, competency-based, and inclusive education.
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus and assessments.
2. School Administration
- Supervise day-to-day school operations.
- Ensure discipline, punctuality, and a positive school culture.
- Manage school schedules, academic calendars, and events.
- Maintain school records and documentation.
3. CBSE Compliance
- Ensure compliance with CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, Examination Bye-Laws, and Board circulars.
- Oversee OASIS data, mandatory disclosures, safety certificates, and annual submissions.
- Coordinate CBSE inspections and affiliation-related activities.
- Maintain statutory registers and school records.
4. Staff Management
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Plan teacher training and professional development.
- Conduct performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback.
- Foster teamwork and professional ethics.
5. Student Welfare
- Ensure student safety and well-being.
- Address discipline, counselling, and grievance matters.
- Encourage participation in sports, arts, clubs, and co-curricular activities.
- Promote an inclusive and child-friendly environment.
6. Parent & Community Relations
- Build strong relationships with parents and stakeholders.
- Conduct Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Address parent concerns professionally.
- Represent the school in educational forums and community programs.
7. Financial & Resource Management
- Prepare and monitor school budgets.
- Ensure optimum utilization of school resources.
- Approve procurement as per school policy.
- Monitor maintenance of infrastructure and facilities.
8. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure fire safety, health, hygiene, transport, and campus security.
- Conduct periodic safety audits and emergency preparedness drills.
- Ensure all statutory certificates remain valid.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in any discipline.
- B.Ed. (Mandatory).
- Minimum 8–10 years of teaching experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as Principal/Vice Principal/Academic Coordinator in a CBSE school.
- Strong knowledge of CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, NEP 2020, and school administration.
