Commercial Head – MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing)
Job Summary
The Commercial Head – MEP is responsible for leading the commercial and contractual functions of MEP projects, ensuring profitability, effective cost management, risk mitigation, and compliance with contractual obligations. The role involves overseeing budgeting, procurement, contract administration, claims management, and financial reporting while supporting successful project delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial Management
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximize project profitability.
- Oversee project budgets, cost control, and financial performance.
- Monitor cash flow, project billing, and revenue recognition.
- Review project financial reports and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure achievement of commercial targets and business objectives.
Contract Management
- Review, negotiate, and administer client and subcontractor contracts.
- Manage contractual risks and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Handle contract amendments, variations, extensions of time, and change orders.
- Prepare and negotiate commercial correspondence with clients and subcontractors.
- Manage claims, disputes, and contractual settlements.
Cost Control
- Establish project cost monitoring and reporting systems.
- Analyze project costs and identify opportunities for savings.
- Monitor procurement costs and subcontractor expenditures.
- Approve payment certifications and subcontractor invoices.
- Ensure accurate forecasting of project costs and margins.
Procurement & Supply Chain
- Lead procurement strategy for major MEP materials and equipment.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor commercial proposals.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial agreements.
- Develop long-term relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
Tendering & Estimation
- Review tender documents and commercial conditions.
- Lead pricing strategy for bids and proposals.
- Review cost estimates, BOQs, and commercial submissions.
- Support business development during pre-contract negotiations.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor commercial managers, quantity surveyors, estimators, and contract administrators.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, finance, and senior management.
- Build and maintain strong client and consultant relationships.
- Present commercial performance reports to executive management.
Risk Management
- Identify commercial and contractual risks.
- Develop mitigation strategies to protect company interests.
- Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in Business, Finance, or Project Management is preferred.
Experience
- 12–20 years of experience in MEP or construction commercial management.
- At least 5 years in a senior commercial leadership role.
- Experience managing large-scale commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, hospitality, or infrastructure projects.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹100,001.00 per month
