Job Summary
The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for the design, planning, coordination, and preparation of mechanical systems for MEP projects, including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Utility Services. The role involves preparing design calculations, drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and ensuring compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare HVAC system designs, load calculations, duct sizing, pipe sizing, and equipment selection.
Design Plumbing and Drainage systems as per project requirements and applicable codes.
Design Fire Fighting systems including hydrant, sprinkler, and pump room layouts.
Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and engineering documentation.
Develop detailed design drawings, shop drawings, and schematic diagrams using AutoCAD/Revit.
Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material specifications, and cost estimates.
Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Architectural, and other project teams.
Review consultant drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as NBC, ASHRAE, IS Codes, NFPA, and local authority regulations.
Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project coordination discussions.
Provide technical support during project execution, testing, and commissioning.
Resolve design-related issues and implement value engineering solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
3–8 years of experience in MEP design projects.
Experience in Commercial Buildings, Hospitals, Data Centers, Industrial, Residential, or Infrastructure Projects.
Knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Mechanical Utilities.
