The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring consistent quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of cattle feed and poultry feed products. This role oversees quality control systems from raw material procurement to finished product dispatch, ensuring adherence to feed safety standards, nutritional specifications, and statutory requirements.
Quality Management & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance systems for cattle feed and poultry feed manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with local and international feed safety standards ( BIS, ISO 9001-2015 , etc.).
- Monitor adherence to nutritional formulations, ingredient specifications, and labeling requirements.
- Prepare for and manage internal, customer, and regulatory audits.
Raw Material & Supplier Control
- Approve and monitor quality of raw materials (grains, oil cakes, additives, premixes).
- Evaluate and audit suppliers for quality and compliance.
- Establish raw material testing protocols and acceptance criteria.
Production & Process Control
- Monitor critical control points during feed production (grinding, mixing, pelleting, cooling).
- Ensure prevention of cross-contamination between cattle and poultry feed.
- Investigate deviations, non-conformances, and customer complaints; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Laboratory & Testing
- Supervise laboratory testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished feed (moisture, protein, fat, fiber, ash, mycotoxins, etc.).
- Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
- Maintain proper documentation and test records.
Team Leadership & Training
- Lead and train QA/QC staff, lab technicians, and production teams on quality standards and feed safety practices.
- Promote a culture of quality, hygiene, and continuous improvement across the plant.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain SOPs, quality manuals, batch records, and traceability systems.
- Prepare quality reports, trend analysis, and performance metrics for management review.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in quality management within cattle feed, poultry feed, or animal nutrition manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with feed safety standards, audits, and laboratory testing.
