About the Role
Hayat Hospital is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented CSSD Technician to join its Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD).
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in sterilization procedures, instrument processing, infection control practices, and CSSD operations within a hospital environment. The candidate must ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, storage, and distribution of medical instruments and equipment while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and infection prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning, disinfection, packing, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Operate and monitor autoclaves, ETO sterilizers, and other CSSD equipment
- Ensure proper sterilization protocols and infection control standards are followed
- Prepare and maintain sterile instrument sets for OT and clinical departments
- Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before sterilization
- Ensure proper inventory management of sterile supplies and instruments
- Coordinate with Operation Theatre, ICU, Wards, and other departments for instrument requirements
- Follow hospital safety policies and biomedical waste management guidelines
- Report equipment malfunctions and maintenance requirements promptly
Eligibility Criteria
- CSSD Certification from a recognized institution is mandatory
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience as a CSSD Technician in a hospital setup
- Good knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control protocols
- Familiarity with autoclaves, sterilizers, and CSSD equipment
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
- Basic computer knowledge preferred
