Founded in 1996, we are a publicly listed logistics company in China with an established global logistics network.
We are seeking an experienced Overseas Business & Logistics Field Operations Specialist to serve as our primary local representative in India.
This role is responsible for managing end-to-end import/export logistics operations after cargo arrival, coordinating local agents and customers, handling operational exceptions, supporting quotations, and ensuring efficient communication between India and our China headquarters.
You will play a key role in maintaining service quality, operational efficiency, and business stability in the India market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Local Operations & Resource Coordination
- Maintain strong relationships with local logistics partners, freight agents, and key customers.
- Coordinate shipment forecasts with the China team.
- Reserve local logistics resources to ensure on-time cargo delivery during both normal and peak seasons.
2. Risk Management & Exception Handling
- Proactively identify operational risks.
- Resolve delivery delays, operational issues, customs-related problems, and other logistics exceptions promptly.
- Conduct root cause analysis and continuously improve operational processes.
3. End-to-End Last-Mile Logistics Management
- Take full ownership of post-arrival logistics operations, including:
- Delivery Order (DO) release
- Customs clearance
- Cargo pickup
- Warehousing coordination
- Monitor local agents' performance and improve transit efficiency while ensuring compliance with operational standards.
4. Cost Control & Information Management
- Review and verify invoices from local logistics partners.
- Control logistics costs and prevent unnecessary expenses.
- Provide timely shipment updates, risk notifications, and exception reports to customers and the China headquarters.
5. Business Support
- Maintain existing customer relationships and identify potential business opportunities.
- Support the China team with freight quotations and logistics solutions for India import/export operations.
- Strengthen localized logistics capabilities in the India market.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in international ocean and/or air freight operations.
- Solid understanding of India's import/export logistics process, including customs clearance, DO release, cargo pickup, and warehousing operations.
- Ability to independently handle shipment delays, customs inspections, cargo damage, regulatory changes, and other operational issues.
- Strong customer service mindset with proactive follow-up throughout the logistics process.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills with customers, logistics partners, and cross-border teams.
- Familiarity with the South India logistics market and local logistics resources.
- Fluent English with strong business communication skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote and field-based environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically within India when required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive fixed annual salary: INR 1,000,000–1,200,000 (10–12 LPA), based on experience and qualifications.
