We are looking for a good fit to join our Transportation Long Term Capacity Planning Team, part of the larger Supply Chain Team. This team plays a crucial role in strategically planning and executing Amazon's Transportation network topology over a 1-3 year horizon. As a Middle Mile Program Manager, you will be at the forefront of uniting cross-functional teams to evolve our network, continuously optimizing for cost, speed, and reliability while maintaining a strong customer focus.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing capacity solutions that address both current and future demands, ensuring business continuity even through peak periods. Your work will directly contribute to our long-term strategy programs, preparing Amazon's logistics network for sustained growth while striking the delicate balance between delivery speed, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
You will leverage your expertise in long-term forecasting and capacity planning to make data-driven decisions that shape the future of our Middle Mile operations. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams across the organization. Your insights and recommendations will be instrumental in guiding senior leadership decisions and driving the continuous improvement of our vast logistics network.

Key job responsibilities
- Own the 3-5 year network architecture vision, defining target-state topology and building the case for irreversible capital bets under demand uncertainty
- Frame speed-cost-flexibility trade-offs into decision documents with quantified options that enable VP-level sign-off on network transformation
- Define the long-range forecasting methodology integrating SCOT inputs, channel share shifts, and sensitivity scenarios to stress-test build plans across demand futures
- Lead the POR narrative for OP1/OP2/3YF cycles, converting capacity projections and topology changes into strategic choices with P&L implications
- Drive structural cost programs through integrated sort centre and transportation planning
- Sequence simultaneous network changes (closures, hub launches, MFC ramps, peak readiness) with dependency mapping and go/no-go criteria across cross-functional teams
- Codify the evolving tenets and guardrails governing network decisions (1P thresholds, lane consolidation rules, utilization targets) and pressure-test them against evolving network conditions
- Influence upstream decisions (FC placement, speed commitments, seller programs) that carry downstream cost and complexity implications on Middle Mile
