- Key Responsibilities:
- 1. Vision Testing & Refraction
- Perform visual acuity testing and refraction (objective and subjective).
2. Diagnostic Procedures
- Perform basic ophthalmic diagnostic tests including:
- Auto-refractometry
- Keratometry
- Tonometry (IOP measurement)
- Visual field testing
- OCT / Fundus imaging
- Pachymetry
- Assist ophthalmologists in interpretation when required.
3. Contact Lens Services
- Perform contact lens fitting and trials.
- Educate patients on contact lens hygiene and maintenance.
- Handle specialty lenses (RGP, toric, multifocal) when required.
4. Pre-operative & Post-operative Care
- Conduct pre-operative evaluation for cataract, LASIK, and refractive surgeries.
- Perform IOL power calculation and keratometry.
- Assist in post-operative vision assessment and follow-up.
5. Patient Counselling
- Explain diagnosis, vision problems, and treatment plans to patients.
- Guide patients on spectacles, lenses, and eye care products.
- Educate patients about eye hygiene and preventive eye care.
6. Equipment Handling
- Operate ophthalmic instruments such as:
- Auto refractometer
- Slit lamp
- Lensometer
- Trial lens set
- Visual field analyzer
- Ensure equipment calibration and maintenance.
7. Documentation & Records
- Maintain accurate patient records in EMR/HIS systems.
- Document examination findings and prescriptions.
- Maintain clinical reports and diagnostic results.
8. Optical & Sales Support (Optional depending on hospital)
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses.
- Coordinate with optical department for spectacle dispensing.
- Conduct auto-refraction and retinoscopy.
- Prescribe spectacles and corrective lenses.
- Perform near vision and binocular vision assessments.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
