Dance Teacher – Role:
To inspire students through dance by developing their technical skills, creativity, confidence, and performance abilities while contributing to the school’s cultural and artistic programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging dance lessons for students across different age groups and grade levels.
- Teach dance techniques, rhythm, coordination, choreography, movement, and stage performance skills.
- Train and prepare students for Annual Day celebrations, cultural events, competitions, assemblies, and other school performances.
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, teamwork, discipline, and confidence through dance.
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and assess student progress regularly.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to support co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Organise and manage costumes, music, props, and performance logistics.
- Participate actively in school events and contribute to the vibrant life of a residential school community.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate or Postgraduate Degree/Diploma in Dance, Performing Arts, or a related field.
- Expertise in one or more dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Folk, Contemporary, Western, Classical, Creative Movement, or Fusion Dance.
- Experience working in CBSE, ICSE, Cambridge, IB, or other International School environments is an advantage.
- Strong choreography, classroom management, communication, and organisational skills.
- Passion for working with children and nurturing artistic talent.
Skills & Certifications:
- Professional certification or recognised training in Dance/Performing Arts preferred.
- Ability to choreograph performances for school events and competitions.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of student safety practices and stage performance management.
- Basic proficiency in music editing and performance planning is an added advantage.
