Job Summary
We are looking for a highly responsible, proactive, and result-oriented General Manager (Operations) to oversee day-to-day business operations, manage multiple project sites, and act as the operational right hand of the Director. The ideal candidate should be capable of handling multiple priorities simultaneously, coordinating with internal teams, contractors, clients, and vendors, while ensuring smooth execution of all projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise multiple project sites simultaneously.
- Execute and monitor all operational tasks assigned by the Director.
- Plan, coordinate, and ensure timely completion of projects.
- Lead and manage site supervisors, contractors, vendors, and labour teams.
- Monitor project progress, quality standards, timelines, and budgets.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports (MIS).
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and government authorities whenever required.
- Resolve operational challenges and make timely decisions to avoid project delays.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Track procurement, material availability, and vendor performance.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections.
- Maintain project documentation, billing records, and approvals.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Represent the Director in meetings and follow up on important action items.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, Project Management, Commerce, or a related field is preferred.
- MBA or equivalent management qualification is an added advantage but not mandatory.
- Candidates with relevant certifications or specialized training in operations, project management, leadership, or construction management are encouraged to apply.
Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of progressive experience in operations, project management, construction, infrastructure, real estate, or a related industry.
- Proven experience managing teams, multiple projects, and cross-functional operations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people, make decisions, and deliver measurable business results.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong operational planning and execution skills.
- Excellent leadership and people management abilities.
- Budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control experience.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and project management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
