Your Responsibilities
The candidate will be responsible for managing the Grains and Pulses trading book across India region, driving volume and profitability growth while effectively controlling risk through physical commodity trading activities.
This role also requires an entrepreneurial mindset to spearhead downstream expansion, fostering new strategic partnerships that enable the company to penetrate the finished goods market in pulses.
Additionally, the role demands the strategic vision to think ahead and build a strong, high-performing trading and execution team.This position serves as the key link between Global Trade and Destination Marketing teams, ensuring seamless coordination, trade execution, and operational excellence across both domestic markets and international export flows.

Trading Book Management: Manage and execute the Grains and Pulses trading book across India region, balancing risk exposure with growth targets.

Volume & Profitability Growth: Develop and execute trading strategies designed to expand market share, increase trading volumes, and maximize margin profitability for assigned commodities.

Downstream Market Penetration: Act with an entrepreneurial spirit to identify, evaluate, and foster new strategic partnerships (e.g., processors, brands, packagers) to successfully penetrate the finished goods market in pulses.

Team Leadership & Development: Proactively think, design, and build a strong, resilient team; mentor junior staff to foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and commercial drive.

Strategy Execution: Formulate and monitor both short-term and long-term trading strategies in line with global view, managing both positions based on market analysis and S&D dynamics.

Internal Coordination: Serve as the primary coordinator between Global Trade, Trading, Logistics, Controlling, and other internal stakeholders to ensure flawless execution of trading book.

Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure strict contract compliance throughout the trade lifecycle. Monitor and mitigate trading, execution, counterparty, and operational risks associated with commodity trading, international destination risks, and new finished goods ventures.

Knowledge of Export Operations from Indian ports in bulk and containers is an advantage.
Your Profile:-
10+ years of experience in agricultural commodity trading and logistics field with consistent results in achieving sales targets and profitability objectives with good education background.

Demonstrated knowledge of relevant domestic and international markets;

Proven ability to work within a functional, team-based work environment;

Strong pipeline and inventory management skills, as well as forecasting future demand;

Knowledge and previous management of commodity and foreign exchange hedging;

Experience in developing new markets is desired; Managerial experience preferred;

Cursory knowledge of controlling and accounting concepts is preferred.

Assist with the annual and 5 year business plans including operating, capital and financial components

Coordinate the development and reporting of the business unit financial forecast and assess risks and understand variances vs. prior and vs. plan

Assist with the development of Power BI dashboards for business analytics

Work with FP&A Director on the tracking process and KPI’s for business unit

Provide analytical support to the business unit for quarterly Board of Directors meetings
