Job Description – Technical Sales Engineer

Job Summary
The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for generating new business opportunities, developing strong customer relationships, and providing technical solutions that meet customer requirements. The role involves identifying prospective clients, conducting product demonstrations, preparing techno-commercial proposals, negotiating contracts, and achieving assigned sales targets.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Development
- Identify and develop new customers in assigned territories.
- Generate leads through cold calling, customer visits, referrals, and market research.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
- Increase market share by promoting the company's products and services.
Technical Support
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions.
- Conduct site surveys and technical discussions with customers.
- Prepare technical presentations and product demonstrations.
- Coordinate with the engineering and service teams to provide complete solutions.
- Resolve customer technical queries before and after sales.
Quotation & Proposal Management
- Prepare techno-commercial quotations.
- Follow up on submitted quotations until order closure.
- Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within company guidelines.
- Coordinate order processing with internal departments.
Customer Relationship Management
- Maintain regular communication with existing customers.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and coordinate timely resolution.
- Collect customer feedback for continuous improvement.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Identify new business opportunities and emerging industries.
- Submit regular market intelligence reports to management.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain daily visit reports and sales activity records.
- Update CRM with customer interactions and sales opportunities.
- Submit weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Forecast sales pipeline accurately.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certification in Sales or Marketing is an advantage.
Experience
- 0–5 years of experience in technical sales or industrial equipment sales.
- Experience in compressors, pneumatic systems, piping systems, welding equipment, or industrial products is preferred.
- Fresh mechanical engineers with strong communication skills may also be considered.
Required SkillsTechnical Skills
- Knowledge of industrial products and engineering concepts.
- Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with CRM software is preferred.
