Job Description: System Administrator

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated System Administrator to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting our critical IT infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment and is dedicated to ensuring the stability, integrity, security, and performance of our servers, networks, and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- System Management: Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot operating systems (Windows/Linux) and enterprise software applications.
- Infrastructure Administration: Manage on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including servers, storage area networks (SAN), virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Network Services: Configure, manage, and support core network services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and file/print services.
- Monitoring & Performance: Proactively monitor system performance, availability, and resource utilization to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. Respond to and resolve alerts from monitoring systems.
- Security: Implement and maintain security measures, including firewall policies, VPN access, endpoint protection, and patch management. Participate in security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Backup & Recovery: Perform and validate regular system backups and execute disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
- User Support: Provide advanced technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT team members, resolving escalated tickets related to hardware, software, and network issues.
- Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and network diagrams.
- Projects: Participate in and lead IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of new technologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or in a similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server environments and Linux/Unix distributions (e.g., RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Solid experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V).
- Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN).
- Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Azure Backup).
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and tools (firewalls, antivirus, SIEM).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to document work and explain complex issues clearly.
Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
