Job Title: Operations Head – CNC Machine Manufacturing
Location: Mysore, Karnataka
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Operations Head to lead and oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations across Production, Assembly, Quality, Planning, Maintenance, Stores, Dispatch, and Continuous Improvement functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving productivity, ensuring on-time delivery, optimizing costs, and supporting the company's growth objectives.
This is a strategic leadership role requiring strong expertise in machine tool manufacturing, people management, process optimization, and operational planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage overall plant operations to achieve production, quality, delivery, cost, and safety targets.
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with business goals and growth plans.
- Oversee Production, Assembly, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Stores, Logistics, and Dispatch functions.
- Ensure timely manufacturing and delivery of CNC machines while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor production planning, capacity utilization, resource allocation, and workflow efficiency.
- Drive productivity improvement, cost optimization, and waste reduction initiatives.
- Establish operational KPIs and review departmental performance regularly.
- Coordinate closely with Design, Purchase, Sales, Service, and Finance teams to ensure smooth business operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and process standardization.
- Review machine utilization, manpower productivity, inventory levels, and operational costs.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and statutory requirements.
- Resolve operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve plant performance.
- Lead workforce planning, team development, and succession planning across departments.
- Drive ERP/SAP adoption and data-driven decision-making throughout operations.
- Support expansion projects, new product introductions, automation initiatives, and infrastructure development.
Qualifications & Experience
- BE / BTech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
- MBA in Operations or Manufacturing Management will be an added advantage.
- 15–20+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with significant experience in CNC machine tools, machine building, capital equipment, or precision engineering industries.
- Minimum 5+ years in a senior leadership role managing multiple operational functions.
