Core Duties and Responsibilities
1. Beverage Preparation & Craftsmanship
- Espresso & Coffee: Grind, dose, and tamp espresso shots to achieve the perfect extraction.
- Milk Steaming: Steam and texture milk for lattes and cappuccinos, often finishing with latte art.
- Specialty Drinks: Prepare pour-overs, teas, and iced beverages according to exact recipes and customer specifications.
2. Customer Service & Sales
- Welcoming Guests: Greet customers, provide menu recommendations, and explain ingredients or dietary substitutions.
- Order Fulfillment: Process orders accurately, ensuring special requests (e.g., dairy ratios, sugar levels) are met.
- Handling Complaints: Resolve issues professionally to ensure a positive customer experience.
3. Equipment Maintenance & Hygiene
- Sanitation: Follow all health and safety guidelines regarding food handling, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
- Machine Upkeep: Clean grinders, espresso machines, and brewing tools daily.
- Daily Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and report any breakdowns to the manager.
4. Cash Handling & Inventory
- Transactions: Process cash and card payments accurately using the café’s point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Stock Management: Monitor inventory levels, restock coffee beans, cups, and pastries, and alert management to supply shortages
