Experience Required: 5 years in Manufacturing Operations / Contract Manufacturing88 Woods is a premier manufacturing infrastructure unit specializing in processing premium raw materials (wood, boards, metal, glass, and hardware) into finished architectural and interior products. We are looking for a candidate who is hands own with the customised production and can steer the outcomes while managing the processes and resources to the best. We are seeking a high-caliber, aggressive Operations Manager / Plant Head to take absolute ownership of our factory floor operations. You will bridge the gap between material procurement and final delivery. This is not a cabin job; you will be on the floor daily, driving operational excellence, eliminating coordination delays, enforcing strict quality parameters, and building a high-accountability culture among our technical and labor teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling (PPC):
- Map out weekly and daily production schedules based on raw material availability from our procurement partners.
- Optimize machine allocation and workforce shifting to ensure maximum output with zero idle time.
- Driving Execution & Turnaround Time (TAT):
- Take full accountability for on-time delivery targets.
- Actively remove bottlenecks, resolve inter-departmental friction, and eliminate project delays.
- Quality Assurance & Process Control:
- Implement clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for cutting, shaping, and finishing.
- Audit work-in-progress units to ensure zero defects before goods leave the factory floor, minimizing reworks.
- Manpower & Culture Leadership:
- Manage, discipline, and motivate the existing technical team and floor labor.
- Drive a culture of extreme ownership, punctuality, and pride in craftsmanship.
- Manage daily labor attendance and track worker productivity metrics.
- Wastage & Cost Control:
- Monitor material consumption and enforce strict checks to keep wastage (wood cutting, glass breakage, paint spills) within allowed thresholds.
Required Skillsets & Qualifications
- Proven Execution Track Record: Minimum 5+ years of operation excellence and experience running a manufacturing plant, modular furniture factory, interior fit-out workshop, or precision assembly line.
- Strong Leadership & Grit: Ability to command respect on the factory floor, handle labor unions/dynamics, and drive a team to meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- Data & Scheduling Literacy: Proficiency in using production planning tools, Excel, or manufacturing ERP modules ( which we are upgrading to) to track timelines and material workflows.
- Technical Familiarity: While you don't need to operate the machines, you must understand manufacturing workflows involving panel processing, woodwork, hardware integration, and finishing/painting.
- Universal Language: Fluency in Hindi and the local regional language like Punjabi ( not a pre requisite, only will be seen as an advantage) to communicate effortlessly with the floor workforce.
- Value chain control : Should be able to introduce work force in the system as and when required of the required nature. Majorly a good control over wood working manpower
Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
