Hydraulic Engineer
Location: Bakrol Bujrang - Ahmedabad, Gujarat

Reporting To: Head – Engineering / Senior Hydraulic Engineer
1. Job Purpose
The Hydraulic Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, assembling, testing and troubleshooting hydraulic systems, particularly hydraulic power packs and hydraulic cylinders used in Secure Innovative’s HVM and physical security products.
The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of hydraulic circuits, pumps, valves, cylinders, manifolds, pressure/flow calculations, hoses, fittings and hydraulic troubleshooting.
Experience with hydraulic road blockers, crash-rated bollards, HVM gates, tyre killers or similar heavy-duty hydraulic equipment will be preferred.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Hydraulic System Design
* Design and develop hydraulic circuits based on product requirements.
* Perform basic hydraulic calculations for:
* Cylinder force
* Operating pressure
* Flow rate
* Cylinder speed
* Pump capacity
* Motor power
* Select suitable pumps, valves, cylinders, hoses, fittings and accessories.
* Prepare hydraulic circuit diagrams.
* Develop hydraulic BOMs and technical specifications.
B. Hydraulic Power-Pack
The engineer should develop practical knowledge of complete hydraulic power packs, including:
* Hydraulic pump selection
* Electric motor selection
* Oil tank/reservoir sizing
* Pressure relief valves
* Directional control valves
* Flow control valves
* Check valves
* Solenoid valves
* Manifolds
* Filters
* Pressure gauges
* Hydraulic hoses and fittings
* Assist in fabrication, assembly and testing of hydraulic power packs.
* Check pressure and flow performance of completed power packs.
* Troubleshoot hydraulic power-pack problems.
C. Hydraulic Cylinder
* Select and assist in designing hydraulic cylinders according to load and stroke requirements.
* Calculate basic bore and rod diameter requirements.
* Review cylinder drawings and specifications.
* Coordinate with cylinder manufacturers.
* Check cylinder dimensions, mounting arrangements and pressure ratings.
* Inspect cylinders for leakage and performance before assembly.
* Support cylinder testing and troubleshooting.
D. HVM Product Integration
Support hydraulic system development and integration for:
* Crash-rated bollards
* Hydraulic road blockers
* HVM gates
* Tyre killers
* Hydraulic barriers
* Other vehicle security products
Understand the interaction between mechanical structure, cylinder force, hydraulic pressure, movement and operating speed.
E. Assembly & Testing
* Assemble hydraulic power packs and hydraulic systems.
* Conduct pressure and leakage tests.
* Check hydraulic connections and hose routing.
* Test cylinder movement and operating speed.
* Identify abnormal noise, vibration, pressure fluctuation and overheating.
* Support FAT and product testing.
F. Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve:
* Hydraulic oil leakage
* Low pressure
* Pressure fluctuations
* Slow cylinder movement
* Pump noise
* Valve malfunction
* Cylinder malfunction
* Excessive oil temperature
* Hose/fitting failures
* Incorrect hydraulic sequencing
Provide technical support to Production, Service and Projects teams.
G. Engineering Documentation
Prepare and maintain:
* Hydraulic circuit diagrams
* Hydraulic BOMs
* Power-pack specifications
* Cylinder specifications
* Hydraulic component datasheets
* Hose and fitting specifications
* Testing procedures
* FAT reports
* Troubleshooting guides
* Installation documentation
3. Coordination Responsibilities
Coordinate with:
Design → Production → Purchase → Quality → Projects → Service
to ensure hydraulic systems are manufactured, tested and commissioned as per technical requirements.
4. Required Technical Skills
Candidate should have good knowledge of:
* Hydraulic pumps
* Hydraulic cylinders
* Directional control valves
* Pressure relief valves
* Flow control valves
* Solenoid valves
* Check valves
* Hydraulic manifolds
* Hydraulic hoses and fittings
* Hydraulic oil
* Pressure and flow measurement
* Basic electro-hydraulic systems
Knowledge of PLC-controlled hydraulic systems, sensors and electrical control panels will be an advantage.
5. Software Skills
* AutoCAD – required
* SolidWorks / similar 3D CAD – preferred
* MS Excel
* Basic ERP/BOM systems
6. Educational Qualification
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
7. Experience
2–3 years of relevant experience in hydraulic system design, assembly, testing or troubleshooting.
Experience in:
* Hydraulic machinery
* Industrial equipment
* Heavy machinery
* Construction equipment
* Hydraulic power-pack manufacturing
* Hydraulic cylinder applications
* HVM/security equipment
will be preferred.

9. Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Hydraulic Engineer with 2–3 years of practical experience, capable of understanding and working on hydraulic systems rather than only preparing documentation.
The candidate should be able to progressively handle the complete process:
Requirement → Hydraulic Calculation → Circuit Design → Cylinder Selection → Pump/Valve Selection → Power-Pack Assembly → Testing → Troubleshooting → FAT → Site Support
