About the Role
Gillespie & Powers (G&P) is seeking an experienced Project Controls Engineer to support the Ma’aden Aluminum Recycling Project in Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia. This role will be responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress measurement, earned value analysis, forecasting, reporting, and project controls throughout the project lifecycle—from engineering and manufacturing through installation, commissioning, and project close-out.
The position will initially be based in India and later transition to the project site in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Scheduling
- Develop and maintain integrated project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
- Establish and manage baseline schedules under formal change control.
- Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and activity coding.
- Integrate vendor and subcontractor schedules into the master project schedule.
- Monitor schedule logic, dependencies, milestones, and critical activities.
Project Controls & Progress Monitoring
- Perform critical path and float analysis.
- Track project progress and productivity trends.
- Conduct schedule risk assessments and impact analysis.
- Support delay analysis, recovery planning, and extension of time evaluations.
Earned Value & Performance Reporting
- Implement and maintain Earned Value Management (EVM) systems.
- Monitor SPI, CPI, Schedule Variance (SV), and Cost Variance (CV).
- Prepare S-curves, dashboards, KPI reports, and performance forecasts.
- Develop Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC).
Reporting & Look-Ahead Planning
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
- Generate 4-week and 90-day look-ahead schedules.
- Support client and EPCM reporting requirements.
- Maintain project controls dashboards and milestone tracking systems.
Site Phase Responsibilities (KSA)
- Monitor installation and commissioning progress.
- Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, SAT, and performance testing activities.
- Maintain as-built schedules and project close-out records.
- Capture lessons learned and support final project reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of Project Controls / Planning experience in EPC, Industrial, Manufacturing, Process Plant, or Capital Equipment projects.
- Strong hands-on experience with Primavera P6.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Expertise in:

- Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Schedule & Float Analysis
- Progress Measurement Systems
- Resource Loading & Forecasting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience preparing S-curves, dashboards, progress reports, and look-ahead schedules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in EPCM or heavy industrial projects.
- Exposure to Middle East / Saudi Arabia projects.
- Familiarity with Primavera Risk Analysis, Acumen, Safran, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of cost control and schedule-cost integration.
- Professional certifications such as AACE PSP, EVP, PMI-SP are advantageous.
