A Facility Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and security of the college campus. He has to ensure the workplace is safe, compliant with local regulations, and highly efficient by managing maintenance teams, third-party vendor contracts, and facility budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Building Maintenance & Operations: Oversee the upkeep of physical infrastructure, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Negotiate and manage service contracts for cleaning, security, landscaping, and catering (Soft FM services).
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure the facility adheres to all workplace safety codes, hygiene, fire regulations, and accessibility standards.
- Budgeting: Develop and monitor facility budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and tracking expenditures.
- Space Planning: Coordinate office relocations, workspace reconfigurations, and structural refurbishments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or a Diploma in Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of proven experience in facility management, operations, or a supervisory maintenance role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
