Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and technically savvy Event Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of various events and permanent/semi-permanent experience center installations.
Your role requires a deep understanding of physical fabrication, robust vendor coordination, and a strong command of cutting-edge AV/IoT technologies. If you have a passion for learning, a keen eye for detail, and the technical grit to bridge the gap between physical builds and digital experiences, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
End-to-End Execution: Plan, coordinate, and execute events and experience center setups from start to finish, ensuring seamless operations and an exceptional attendee experience.
Logistics & Vendor Management: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to manage logistics, including venue selection, budgeting, equipment rental, and transportation.
Fabrication & IoT Integration: Oversee complex fabrication processes, ensuring structural builds are engineered to seamlessly house and conceal IoT sensors, hardware, cabling, and interactive elements while maintaining premium quality standards.
AV & Display Oversight: Manage the deployment and calibration of advanced AV setups, including LED walls (pixel pitch, refresh rates, processing), specialized lighting rigs, and zoned audio systems.
Contract Negotiation: Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with agreed-upon terms, particularly technical SLAs.
Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed event timelines, signal flow charts, and production schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
On-Site Technical Supervision: Conduct on-site inspections and technical rehearsals to ensure spaces are set up according to architectural and tech specifications; troubleshoot hardware, software, or structural issues on the fly.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the event operations and technical crew, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Innovation & Process Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously evaluating processes to incorporate innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and interactivity.
Requirements
Proven Leadership: 5+ years of experience in a Manager or above role, specifically leading teams, managing large-scale budgets, and overseeing the execution of complex events, corporate exhibitions, or interactive experience centers.
Advanced Fabrication Knowledge: In-depth understanding of fabrication materials and methods, specifically engineered for IoT integration (e.g., smart triggers, RFID/NFC housing, custom enclosures for sensors/microcontrollers).
Display & LED Expertise: Strong working knowledge of LED walls and hardware specifications (understanding pixel pitch, power distribution, resolution scaling, indoor vs. outdoor brightness/nits, and media server interfaces).
Audio & Acoustic Competency: Solid understanding of professional speakers and audio specifications (frequency response, wattage, zoning, directional audio, and amplifier/mixer setups suited for immersive environments).
Lighting Systems: Familiarity with professional lighting systems (DMX programming, architectural lighting, stage fixtures, and intelligent lighting setups).
Project Management Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple complex technical and structural tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon into clear action items for internal teams, creative designers, external vendors, and clients.
Growth Mindset: Proactive mindset with a fierce willingness to learn and adapt within a rapidly evolving experiential tech environment.
Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required by project and event schedules.
