Labour Room Nurse – Job Description Core Responsibilities
- Monitor pregnant women during Labor and delivery
- Check vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature)
- Track fetal heart rate and contractions
- Assist doctors during normal delivery and procedures
- Prepare delivery instruments and maintain sterility
- Provide emotional support to the mother and family
During Delivery
- Assist in vaginal births and support the doctor
- Handle newborn immediately after birth (cleaning, warming)
- Help initiate breastfeeding
- Watch for complications like bleeding or fetal distress
Emergency Duties
- Recognize complications (e.g., Pre-eclampsia, fetal distress)
- Prepare patient for emergency Cesarean section
- Assist in resuscitation of newborn if needed Post-Delivery Care
- Monitor mother for bleeding or infection
- Check uterine contraction and recovery
- Record all observations and care provided
- Educate mother on newborn care and hygiene
Pay: From ₹15,000.00 per month
