About the Role
- Head – Asset Management is expected to lead the performance, operations, commercial management and value optimization of a portfolio of renewable energy assets in India and SEA.
- The role will have end-to-end responsibility for maximizing asset availability, generation, revenue, EBITDA, operational efficiency and long-term asset value across utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
A. Asset Management
- Lead end-to-end Asset Management for operating Solar, Wind, Hybrid and/or BESS projects.
- Drive portfolio performance against generation, availability, PR/CUF, revenue, EBITDA and OPEX targets.
- Monitor asset performance and identify opportunities to reduce generation losses, downtime and operating costs.
- Develop asset optimization, life-extension, refurbishment, repowering and technology-upgrade strategies.
- Use SCADA, CMMS, analytics and digital tools to improve asset performance and predictive maintenance.
B. Operations Management & Delivery Excellence
- Lead and manage internal and outsourced O&M teams, OEMs and service providers.
- Drive root-cause analysis, reliability improvement and corrective action for underperforming assets.
- Oversee annual OPEX budgets, business plans, major maintenance and lifecycle CAPEX.
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing Asset Management & Operations team.
C. Contract & Commercial Management
- Ensure compliance with O&M contracts, PPAs, warranties, SLAs, performance guarantees and other project agreements.
- Manage commercial aspects including revenue realization, claims, warranty recovery, contractual obligations and disputes.
D. Stakeholder & Regulatory Management
- Coordinate with DISCOMs, SLDC/RLDC, transmission utilities, off-takers, lenders, investors and other stakeholders.
E. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Lead portfolio-level MIS, dashboards, management reviews and investor/lender reporting.
F. Risk Management & Governance
- Identify operational, commercial and financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Job requirements
- 15+ years of overall experience, with significant experience in renewable energy asset management / operations / O&M.
- Strong experience in managing utility-scale Solar, Wind, Hybrid and/or BESS assets.
- Proven track record in improving generation, plant availability, operational efficiency and asset profitability.
- Strong understanding of PPA, O&M, EPC, warranty and performance guarantee contracts.
- Good understanding of project financials including OPEX, EBITDA, cash flow and project returns.
- Experience interacting with investors, lenders, off-takers, utilities, OEMs and senior management.
- Strong leadership, commercial acumen, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Engineering degree in Electrical / Electronics / Renewable Energy or related discipline. MBA/PGDM preferred.
