AI-Enabled Operations Lead (Plastic Injection Molding Manufacturing) — Malad Mumbai/Daman
About us
· Group with manufacturing (LED panels, fans, injection molding) across Vasai, Daman, and Malad.
· Vasai is SAP- and SOP-driven; we’re scaling the same rigor to Daman (25 molding auto feeder, machines with robots, conveyor)
· We want a hands-on operator who uses AI and data to systematize plants, reduce waste, and simplify paperwork.
Role purpose
· Rapidly establish SOPs, dashboards, and automations that improve OEE, first-pass yield, on-time dispatch, inventory accuracy, and working capital.
· Deploy practical AI/automation for production, QC, inventory, sourcing, and documentation—no academic experiments.
Key responsibilities
· Map current processes; write and roll out SOPs for molding, maintenance, QC, stores/dispatch, and order-to-cash.
· Implement OEE and downtime tracking on 25 molding machines; set real-time alerts and shift reports.
· Lead quality analytics (SPC, defect pareto, root cause) and introduce computer-vision spot checks where feasible.
· Digitize inventory (barcodes/RFID), lot traceability for resin and finished goods, and reorder signals.
· Automate paperwork: extract data from invoices/BL/PL into ledgers; reconcile PO/GRN/invoice; generate standard reports.
· Improve planning and execution: production scheduling, changeover windows, and logistics coordination.
· Vendor/sourcing analytics: RFQ templates, price/lead comparison, landed-cost models; structured supplier follow-ups.
· Train supervisors and staff; create adoption plans and simple manuals; measure impact with 90-day targets.
· Coordinate with Vasai SAP team to align master data and reporting.
Required skills
· Strong operations background in discrete manufacturing (plastics/injection molding preferred) with measurable outcomes (e.g., FPY, OEE, scrap reduction).
· Comfort with shop-floor data: PLCs/robots/conveyors; implementing OEE/downtime systems; basic industrial data connectivity.
· Practical AI/automation fluency: using LLMs for drafting SOPs/emails, RPA/document extraction, analytics dashboards (Power BI/Metabase), and basic computer vision pilots.
· Process design: Lean/Six Sigma, SPC, PFMEA, changeover reduction, visual management.
· Tooling: Excel/Google Sheets, SQL basics, Power BI or similar; bonus for Python, OpenCV, or no-code automation (Make/Zapier/Power Automate).
· Clear communication; ability to train non-technical staff; bias for action.
Qualifications
· 6–12 years in operations/industrial engineering/production management; plastics or electronics assembly preferred.
· Degree/Diploma in Mechanical/Production/Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering; Six Sigma Green Belt a plus.
· Demonstrated implementation of a data or automation project on the shop floor.
Location
· Base at Malad office or Daman factory with frequent travel to Vasai/Daman as needed.
Compensation
· Salary: INR 12–18 LPA fixed, depending on experience.
· Performance bonus: up to 20% tied to KPIs (OEE, FPY, scrap, on-time dispatch, inventory accuracy, paperwork time saved).
· Tools/training budget and pilot budget.
KPIs in first 90–180 days
· OEE visibility on all 25 machines; daily shift report adoption >95%.
· Scrap/rejection rate reduced by 20% from baseline; FPY improved by 10%.
· Paperwork automation saves 30% staff time in Malad documentation.
· Inventory accuracy >97%; resin and FG traceability implemented.
· On-time dispatch improved to >95%.
