Role Overview
Advex Media is looking for a highly organised and execution-focused Assistant Director to support the planning, coordination, and execution of video shoots and production activities.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication, scheduling, and on-set coordination skills, with the ability to manage production workflows efficiently under deadlines.
This role requires someone who can handle pressure, solve problems quickly, and ensure smooth coordination between production and post-production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director and Head of Production in planning and executing video shoots and production activities
- Break down scripts and prepare shoot plans, shot lists, schedules, and execution timelines
- Coordinate casting activities, including scheduling auditions and managing talent requirements
- Ensure props, equipment, locations, and production resources are ready before shoot days
- Manage communication between production and post-production teams for smooth workflow handovers
- Support multiple shoots and production projects simultaneously when required
- Monitor shoot schedules and ensure production timelines are followed efficiently
- Communicate creative and technical instructions clearly from the Director to the crew and team members
- Handle on-set coordination and ensure smooth execution during shoots
- Ensure cast and crew are present, prepared, and aligned throughout production
- Organise and manage raw footage, shoot references, and production files after shoot completion
- Support production documentation, approvals, reports, and project records
Requirements
- Strong understanding of production workflows and shoot coordination
- Ability to manage schedules, teams, and production logistics effectively
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and fast-paced production environments
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in advertising agencies or production houses
- Basic understanding of cinematography, editing workflows, and production pipelines
- Familiarity with production planning tools and documentation processes
- Ability to multitask across multiple projects efficiently
