We are hiring for Head legal from Real estate Industry
Location Chennai
Experience - 25–30+ years of experience in the real estate industry
* Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB); Master’s Degree (LLM) preferred
Key Responsibilities:
* Strong knowledge of property laws, RERA regulations, land acquisition, and contract law
* Proven experience in handling litigation and legal compliance
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Leadership and team management experience
1. Legal Strategy & Advisory
* Provide strategic legal guidance to management on real estate transactions and business
decisions
* Interpret and apply relevant laws, including property, contract, and corporate laws
* Support business teams with legal opinions on projects and investments
2. Land Acquisition & Due Diligence
* Lead legal due diligence for land acquisition, including title verification and risk assessment
* Scrutinize land documents, approvals, and encumbrances
* Coordinate with external legal consultants and government authorities
3. Contract Management
* Draft, review, and negotiate agreements such as Joint Development Agreements (JDA), Sale
Agreements, Vendor Contracts, Lease Agreements, and MOUs
* Ensure all contracts are legally sound and aligned with company interests
4. Compliance & Regulatory
* Ensure compliance with real estate laws, including RERA, local land laws, and environmental
regulations
* Liaise with regulatory authorities for approvals and legal clearances
* Keep track of changes in laws and advise management accordingly
5. Litigation Management
* Handle and monitor all ongoing litigations, disputes, and legal notices
* Coordinate with external advocates and represent the company in legal proceedings when
required
* Develop strategies to minimize legal exposure
6. Documentation & Record Management
* Maintain and manage all legal records, agreements, and property documents
* Ensure proper documentation for all projects and transactions
7. Team Leadership
* Lead and mentor the legal team
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, CRM, Finance, and Projects
