Job Summary
The QC Chemist is responsible for performing quality control testing on raw materials (RM), packaging materials (PM), in-process samples, and finished products. This role ensures all chemical products comply with established quality, safety, and regulatory standards (ACS, Pharmacopeia). The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise with advanced analytical instrumentation and a strong understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Quality & Sampling Testing: Conduct sampling and routine/non-routine analysis of RM, PM, in-process, and finished goods against strict specifications.
- Instrument Operation: Program, operate, and maintain advanced analytical instruments, including HPLC, GC, AAS, UV, FTIR, Polarimeter, Karl Fischer titrator, and Potentiometer.
- QMS & Compliance: Actively participate in QMS activities. Ensure all processes align with ISO, GMP, ACS, and Pharmacopeia standards.
- Equipment Calibration: Execute routine calibration and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record raw data, maintain compliant laboratory notebooks, and prepare quality reports for management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Production and R&D teams to investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results and drive continuous process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry.
- Experience: 4–5 years of QC experience within the chemical, pharmaceutical, or allied industries.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of sampling protocols, chemical testing methods, and compendial requirements (ACS/Pharmacopeia).
- Core Competencies: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and a collaborative team mindset.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for meticulous reporting and documentation.
