We are seeking an experienced Test Lead with strong expertise in Telecom Domain Testing across 5G, 4G, 3G, and 2G technologies. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience in IMS, EPC, and SDM domains, along with proven leadership capabilities in managing both manual and automation testing activities. The role requires strong protocol knowledge, test strategy development, defect management, and collaboration with cross- functional teams to ensure high-quality product delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end testing activities for telecom products across IMS, EPC, and SDM domains.
Define and implement comprehensive test strategies covering manual and automated testing for customer lab and production environments.
Design, develop, execute, and maintain functional, regression, interoperability, integration, and performance test cases.
Lead automation initiatives and contribute to automation framework design and maintenance.
Coordinate with R&D, Domain Experts, and Market Services teams to ensure timely issue resolution and product quality.
Perform detailed log analysis, troubleshooting, and defect validation.
Drive defect management activities including defect triaging, prioritization, tracking,
and closure.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and provide quality improvement
recommendations.
Ensure adherence to SDLC processes and testing best practices in Agile and Waterfall
environments.
Mentor team members and provide technical guidance on testing methodologies and
automation practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience in Telecom Domain Testing.
Strong experience in 5G/4G/3G/2G technologies across IMS, EPC, and SDM
domains.
Working knowledge of SDM solutions including HSS, HLR, UDM, One-NDS, and
SDL.
Strong understanding of 4G EPC and 5G Core architectures, interfaces, and call
flows.
Hands-on experience with telecom protocols such as: o SIP
o Diameter o HTTP/2 o MAP
o LDAP
o SPML
o SOAP
o SBI Architecture
Experience in packet capture and protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark and TCPDUMP.
Proven experience in leading both manual and automation testing teams.
Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
Expertise in automation scripting and framework development using:
o Python
o Robot Framework o Selenium
Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD and Jenkins.
Hands-on experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira and
HPQC/ALM.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management
skills.
Defect Management & Quality Assurance
Identify, categorize, and manage defects based on severity and priority.
Perform detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for critical issues.
Escalate defects to Domain and R&D teams and track them through resolution and
validation.
Ensure high-quality deliverables through effective test planning, execution, and
reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with Nokia telecom products and solutions.
Exposure to telecom customer lab environments and production deployments.
Understanding of CI/CD-driven test automation and DevOps practices.
Experience in telecom network troubleshooting and protocol analysis.
