THE ROLE:
As a Manual QA Engineer (2–4 Years Experience), you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, stability, and usability of software products through structured and exploratory testing approaches. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and designers, to validate requirements, identify defects, and enhance overall user experience. In this role, you are expected to independently handle testing tasks, contribute to test strategy, and ensure timely delivery within an agile environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Design, develop, and maintain detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test data based on business requirements and user stories.
- Execute manual testing across web/mobile platforms to validate functionality, usability, and performance.
- Identify, log, prioritize, and track defects with clear documentation (steps to reproduce, screenshots, severity, impact).
- Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases and usability gaps beyond defined test cases.
- Conduct regression and integration testing to ensure stability after code changes.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and business analysts to understand requirements and resolve issues.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
- Review requirements and provide early feedback from a QA perspective.
- Maintain and update test documentation, reports, and QA metrics.
- Contribute to process improvements, test optimization, and quality best practices.
- Support basic API testing and validate backend integrations where required.
WHAT YOU BRING:
- Manual Testing Expertise: Strong understanding of test design techniques, defect lifecycle, and QA methodologies.
- Requirement Analysis: Ability to interpret functional and technical documents and derive comprehensive test coverage.
- API Testing (Basic to Intermediate): Hands-on experience with tools like Postman or similar.
- Bug Tracking Tools: Experience with JIRA, Bugzilla, or equivalent tools.
- SDLC & STLC: Good understanding of development and testing lifecycles.
- Agile Methodology: Practical experience working in scrum/agile environments.
- Cross-Browser & Cross-Platform Testing: Experience in validating applications across different environments.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate issues, risks, and testing progress to stakeholders.
