Job Summary
Label Apurva is looking for a passionate, creative, and detail-oriented Fashion Design Intern to join our design team. This internship offers hands-on exposure to the complete fashion design process, from concept development and trend research to sampling, production coordination, and collection launches.
The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in women's fashion, textiles, embroidery, prints, and contemporary ethnic wear. This role is perfect for someone looking to gain real-world experience in a fast-growing fashion brand while working closely with senior designers and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design Support
- Assist the design team in developing seasonal and capsule collections.
- Create mood boards, inspiration boards, color stories, and trend presentations.
- Support in sketching garments, silhouettes, embroidery layouts, and print concepts.
- Assist in developing collection themes and design concepts.
Trend Research & Market Analysis
- Research global and local fashion trends, color forecasts, fabrics, and consumer preferences.
- Monitor fashion influencers, runway collections, social media trends, and competitor brands.
- Compile trend reports and design references for upcoming collections.
Fabric & Embroidery Development
- Assist in sourcing fabrics, trims, laces, embellishments, and accessories.
- Support the development of embroidery placements, print layouts, and surface ornamentation.
- Maintain fabric and trim libraries for future reference.
Sampling & Product Development
- Coordinate with pattern masters, tailors, and sampling teams.
- Assist in sample tracking, fitting sessions, and garment evaluations.
- Document design changes and maintain product development records.
Technical Documentation
- Help prepare technical sheets, measurement charts, and design specifications.
- Organize design files, artwork, and collection documentation.
- Ensure design data is updated and maintained accurately.
Digital Design & Content Support
- Create fashion illustrations and design presentations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Assist in preparing creative assets for photoshoots, social media, and website launches.
- Explore AI-assisted design tools for concept generation and creative research.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design, production, merchandising, marketing, and e-commerce teams.
- Assist during collection launches, photoshoots, exhibitions, and brand events.
- Support day-to-day activities within the design department.
Eligibility Criteria
- Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
- Strong passion for fashion, design, textiles, and contemporary ethnic wear.
- Basic knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, embroidery, and fashion illustration.
- Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, or other design software.
- Good communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced fashion environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- 0–1 year of internship, freelance, academic project, or industry experience.
- Interest in women's wear, luxury prêt, occasion wear, or contemporary ethnic fashion.
- Basic understanding of AI design tools and digital fashion technologies.
- Knowledge of embroidery techniques, print development, or textile crafts is an advantage.
