ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Ontology Modeler does the hardest organizational work in Pod 1 sitting with Finance, Legal, Procurement, HR, and other corporate functions to extract implicit business knowledge and translate it into explicit, consistent ontology schemas.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead domain engagement sessions with corporate function teams to elicit, validate, and formalize business concepts as ontology schemas
Translate domain expert knowledge into formal schema definitions
Own the ontology documentation the human-readable catalogue of concepts in each namespace
Manage the concept lifecycle process
Identify and surface implicit conflicts between how different corporate functions represent the same real-world entity
Partner with the data product engineer (Pod 5) on data mapping to ontology concepts
Ideal Profile:
Has done formal knowledge elicitation or ontology modeling work in an enterprise context has enough technical depth to understand graph schema design has worked directly with senior business stakeholders has experience resolving cross-domain semantic conflicts.
