Job Relevant Experience
1) Knowledge of Design Practices for EHV Transformers upto 150 MVA 220 kV class with compliance to IS-2026 / IEC-60076.
2) Knowledge on CAD software
3) Should understand Transformer Design, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and Transformer internal arrangement
4) Should have good understanding of IS / IEC Standards & Canadian Standards
5) Experience in winding design / Tank & externals
6) Perform magnetic core calculations to meet customer requested parameters.
7) Support manufacturing to resolve assembly issues and product improvement, processes based on feedback
8) Prepare and release engineering information to manufacturing as per production plan i.e. BOM, design sheets, test plans and product drawings as per customer order requirement.
6) Experience on Microsoft office and tools
7) Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different
8) Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
Key Responsibilities
1) Lead the electrical design of EHV transformers up to 150 MVA, 220 kV class, ensuring strict adherence to customer specifications.
2) Core & Magnetic Calculations: Perform complex magnetic core calculations to optimize transformer performance and meet requested parameters.
3) Winding & Insulation Design: Utilize deep expertise to design transformer windings, dielectrics, internal arrangements, and clearance/creepage distances.
4) Tank & Externals: Oversee the structural integration, including tank layout, basic mechanical layout, and external component positioning.
5) Production Deliverables: Prepare, review, and release critical engineering information to manufacturing according to the production plan (including Bills of Materials (BOM), design sheets, test plans, and product drawings).
6) Leadership & Collaboration, Cross-Functional Synergy: Lead, mentor, and collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary technical teams across different departments and global regions.
7) Shop Floor Support: Partner with the manufacturing division to resolve real-time assembly issues, optimize production processes, and implement continuous product improvements based on factory feedback.
8) Standards Compliance: Act as the subject matter expert on international compliance, ensuring all designs align with IEC and Canadian Standards.
9) Required Skills and Qualifications Technical Competencies Domain Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of EHV transformer design, dielectric properties, internal arrangement, and electrical clearances.
10) Software Proficiency: Advanced hands-on experience with CAD software and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools for data analysis and reporting.Global Standards: Deep knowledge of IEC and Canadian transformer manufacturing standards.
11) Leadership & CommunicationLanguage Proficiency: Outstanding command of both spoken and written English is mandatory.
12) Team Management: Proven ability to guide technical teams, manage design workloads, and meet strict production deadlines.
