Objective: The objective of the SCM Head – IWM Site is to lead end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure uninterrupted material availability, optimal inventory levels, and cost-effective procurement and logistics. The role focuses on building strong supplier partnerships, supporting smooth plant operations, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in line with plant and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Planning & Procurement
- Own procurement of raw materials, bought-out parts, and services
- Define and execute sourcing and procurement strategies
- Lead supplier negotiations, contracts, and long-term agreements
- Drive cost reduction through localization, alternate sourcing, and VA/VE
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Maintain optimum inventory levels and working capital control
- Oversee stores, inbound material flow, and warehouse operations
- Implement inventory controls, cycle counts, and audit readiness
Production & Demand Alignment
- Align material planning with production schedules
- Proactively manage shortages, constraints, and escalations
- Support new product launches and engineering changes
Logistics & Vendor Management
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics and transport partners
- Monitor OTIF, logistics cost, and service-level performance
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and corrective actions
Compliance, Quality & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with SCM policies, statutory, and audit requirements
- Coordinate with Quality on supplier quality issues and improvements
- Identify supply risks and implement mitigation plans
Team Leadership & Process Excellence
- Lead and develop SCM team (planning, procurement, stores, logistics)
- Drive Lean, digitization, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Define, track, and review SCM KPIs with plant leadership
Qualification &Experience
- BE/BTech (Mechanical / Production / Industrial preferred)
- MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations (preferred)
- 15+ years of SCM experience in manufacturing / plant environment
- 3–5 years in a plant-level SCM leadership role
- Hands-on ERP experience (SAP preferred)
