Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities:
The
incumbent will be responsible for monitoring the production processes to assure
all Quality and Food Safety program standards are met and takes appropriate
actions to prevent production and shipment of non-conforming products. This position is the primary back-up for the
Quality & Food Safety Mgr. and actively assists with the development and
implementation of new QA procedures, investigation and problem-solving for customer
complaints and corrective/preventative actions, and QA training for ZBI and
licensing personnel. This position works
closely with Customer Service, Sales, Production, Nutrition, and other
operational units performing the designated functions in the assigned area
which will include but not be limited to the responsibilities below:
Principal Responsibilities:

Implement
and monitor procedures in accordance with the company’s quality and food safety
programs and assist in developing new procedures where required to assure
quality standards are met.

Perform
chemical and physical testing as required to assure that all ingredients and
finished products comply with established specifications.

Coordinate
assays of products and ingredients with independent labs per QA protocols.

Under
supervision of the QA and Food Safety Manager, directs daily activities of the
QA staff.

Serves
as back-up for the QA and Food Safety Manager in their absence.
-
Maintain
QA records in an organized manner and generate reports as required.
-
Responsible
for correlating necessary regulatory and exporting testing requirements to
orders, so that shipments can be released as scheduled.

Take
lead in acquiring and compiling data in response to key complaints, issues, or
projects for review and response by the Q&FS Mgr.

Participate
in investigation and response to customer complaints (CRFs) and in problem
solving to identify corrective/preventative actions which provide effective
solutions.

Investigate
Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs) and recommend disposition to Q&FS Mgr. or
Nutrition personnel as needed. Identify corrective actions to prevent
reoccurrences.

Assist
with investigation and problem solving for Corrective/Preventative Action
Requests (CPARs)

Assist
with QA training and audits for licensees and their staffs as needed. May require international travel.
Educational Requirements:

Minimum: High
School Diploma or GED with Quality/Food Safety Experience

Preferred:
BS or BA in Quality/Food Safety or associated field

Must
be able to read and write English language
Training, Skills, Knowledge and/or Experience:
-
The
ideal candidate will have solid work history in the quality field and/or
specific training or certifications that are applicable to Quality control (QC)
or Quality Assurance (QA) in a manufacturing environment.

Exceptional
organizational skills, proficiency in word and excel with the ability to
clearly communicate and interact with people are a required.

be able to stand, walk, climb, bend, crawl, reach, and lift at least 25 Kgs.
Must
pass a job-related pre-employment physical and drug-alcohol screening.
Extensive Hours: Overtime work could be required based on
production needs.
