About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and organized Project Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operations of our Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) project. The role involves coordinating with the medical team, supporting community mobilization, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining effective communication with local stakeholders and health authorities.
This position is ideal for someone with 2–3 years of experience in project coordination, preferably in the healthcare or non-profit sector. The role requires a strong commitment to improving rural health access and the ability to work closely with both field teams and community members.
Key Responsibilities
1. MMU Operations & Coordination Manage the daily schedule and route planning of the MMU across target villages Coordinate with doctors, pharmacist, lab technician, and driver for effective service delivery Monitor attendance, supplies, and basic functionality of MMU services
2. Community Mobilization Engage with local communities, Panchayats, ASHAs, and health workers to ensure participation in MMU activities Support awareness sessions and facilitate smooth functioning of health camps
3. Reporting & Documentation Maintain daily records of patients served, diagnostics done, and health issues addressed Compile weekly and monthly reports for internal and donor use Support the team in case documentation, feedback collection, and data entry
4. Coordination with Stakeholders Assist in maintaining liaison with government health departments and local health functionaries Ensure permissions and timely support from local authorities for MMU movement and outreach
5. Logistics & Compliance Monitor stock of medicines, IEC materials, and medical equipment Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and protocol standards during MMU visits
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Rural Development, or related field (Master’s preferred but not mandatory)Experience: 2–3 years of experience in field coordination or project implementation, preferably in health or non-profit sector Language: Working knowledge of Gujarati is desirable
