We’re looking to hire an experienced writer and editor to join our Content Team as soon as possible. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in online writing, someone who is highly adaptable and able to face new challenges head-on.
You’ll be joining a small closely-knit team with a varied, but demanding workload, and you will need to be able to produce great work under tight deadlines. You’ll need to have an impeccable eye for detail balanced with a very strong work ethic. We operate in a fast-moving environment so you will need to be able to grasp new concepts quickly and be able to break down complicated topics so that they can be easily understood by our target audience.
The Senior Content Writer is responsible for coordinating most of our content writing tasks. You will need to be a strong team player and be able to act as a mentor for our junior writers. You will be our writing expert, providing advice, training and feedback to writers, managers and other company staff to help them get the best of the online content. Responsibilities:
- To write high-quality user friendly content for the company websites
- To edit work submitted by other writers and members of staff
- To take responsibility for the company’s style guidelines
- To manage and assign tasks and responsibilities to junior writers
- To provide regular updates for the sites’ news sections and blogs
- To provide feedback and training to other writers
- To optimise content for SEO
- To write marketing and auto-reply emails
- To periodically review onsite content and make updates and improvements where applicable by using our content management system
Candidate experience
- At least 1 year’s experience working in a writing and editing role
- Ability to communicate and express ideas clearly
- Experience of writing effectively for the web, ideally for ecommerce
- Strong proofreading skills
- Ability to transform complex ideas into simple, straightforward propositions
- Impeccable eye for details and inaccuracies
- Basic understanding of SEO writing
- Ability to adapt your writing style for a number of different audiences
- Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Ability to thrive in a fast changing, dynamic environment
- Ability to work effectively individually and within a team
- Experience of writing for the healthcare industry would be an advantage
- Very basic HTML skills would also be useful
