Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based infrastructure supporting development, testing, and production environments.
- Deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS while ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and reliable software delivery.
- Containerize applications using Docker and deploy/manage workloads on Kubernetes.
- Perform infrastructure troubleshooting, incident resolution, and root cause analysis across the application stack.
- Collaborate with development teams to automate deployments, improve operational efficiency, and implement DevOps best practices.
- Monitor infrastructure, applications, and cloud resources, responding proactively to alerts and performance issues.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure documentation, operational runbooks, and deployment procedures.
- Participate in on-call support and production maintenance activities when required.
- Continuously identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and infrastructure improvements.
Skills Required
Linux Administration
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration.
- Ability to perform day-to-day operational tasks including:
- System performance and resource saturation troubleshooting (CPU, memory, disk, I/O).
- Log analysis and troubleshooting.
- Package management.
- User and permission management.
- Process and service management.
- Storage and filesystem management.
- Basic system hardening and security configuration.
- Nginx installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
AWS Cloud
Strong working knowledge of AWS services including:
- EC2
- EKS
- Lambda
- S3
- VPC
- IAM
- CloudWatch
- ECR
- ElastiCache (Memcached & Redis)
- SQS
Should understand how these services integrate to build secure, scalable, and highly available applications.
Networking
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals.
- Ability to perform basic network troubleshooting.
- Hands-on knowledge of Linux networking commands (ping, traceroute, netstat/ss, tcpdump, curl, nslookup, dig, etc.).

Version Control
- Strong understanding of Git workflows.

- Ability to write and optimize Dockerfiles.
- Experience with Docker Compose.
- Hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes workloads.

Experience with any of the following will be an added advantage:
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK/OpenSearch).
- High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and scalable infrastructure design.
- Basic scripting using Bash or Python.
