Job Summary
We are looking for a Logistics Tracking & Container Operations Executive to oversee vehicle tracking, reefer temperature monitoring, container movement, and logistics coordination. The ideal candidate should have experience in transport operations, container logistics, and cold-chain management to ensure timely and efficient shipment movement while maintaining operational compliance.
Key Responsibilities1. Vehicle Tracking
- Monitor vehicle movement through GPS tracking systems.
- Track trips from origin to destination and ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor route adherence and report delays, diversions, breakdowns, or idle time.
- Coordinate with drivers to resolve operational issues.
- Prepare and maintain daily vehicle movement reports.
2. Temperature Monitoring
- Monitor reefer/container temperatures throughout transit.
- Ensure temperature compliance as per shipment requirements.
- Record temperature logs and immediately report any deviations.
- Coordinate with drivers and service teams to resolve temperature-related issues.
- Maintain temperature compliance reports for cold-chain shipments.
3. Container Operations
- Coordinate offloading and return of empty containers at designated yards.
- Verify container numbers before offloading.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, transporters, yard operators, and warehouse teams.
- Ensure timely return of empty containers to avoid detention and demurrage charges.
- Maintain container movement records and acknowledgement documents.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily logistics and shipment status reports.
- Maintain GPS tracking and container movement records.
- Update trip status in ERP/logistics systems.
- Verify PODs, EIRs, and other logistics documents.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all transport activities.
5. Coordination
- Liaise with drivers, transport vendors, shipping lines, warehouse teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Escalate operational issues promptly for quick resolution.
- Ensure smooth coordination across all logistics operations.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of GPS vehicle tracking systems.
- Understanding of cold-chain logistics and reefer temperature monitoring.
- Knowledge of container logistics, shipping, and yard operations.
- Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/Logistics software (SAP preferred).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Commerce, Supply Chain Management, or any related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in transport, logistics, or container operations.
- Experience in vehicle tracking and container operations will be preferred.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Vehicle tracking accuracy.
- Temperature compliance for reefer shipments.
- Timely empty container offloading and return.
- Reduction in detention and demurrage charges.
- Accuracy of logistics reports and documentation.
- Driver response and issue resolution time.
- Compliance with logistics SOPs.
