Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Entomologist to support agricultural pest management, field research, and farmer advisory services. The candidate will assist in identifying insect pests, recommending control measures, and supporting sustainable farming practices.
Junior entomologists typically assist in fieldwork, insect identification, and data collection, especially in agriculture-related environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Field Monitoring & Pest Identification
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor pest and beneficial insect populations
- Identify crop-specific insects (pests & natural enemies)
- Collect insect samples and maintain records
2. Pest Management Support
- Assist in developing Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies
- Recommend appropriate biological and chemical control measures
- Support farmers with practical pest control solutions
3. Research & Data Analysis
- Collect and analyze field data related to insect infestations
- Conduct basic lab/field experiments and trials
- Prepare reports on pest incidence and crop impact
4. Farmer Advisory & Training
- Provide technical guidance to farmers and field teams
- Conduct awareness sessions on pest control and crop protection
- Support agri-extension activities
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain field reports, pest records, and treatment outcomes
- Assist senior scientists in research documentation
Required Qualifications:
- B.Sc / M.Sc in Entomology / Agriculture / Zoology / Life Sciences
- 1–2 years of experience in agriculture field / pest control / agri-input company
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
