About the Role
We are seeking experienced Design Release Engineers (DRE) specializing in Exterior Trim systems for passenger vehicle programs.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end design release activities, component development, engineering change management, supplier coordination, and product validation of automotive exterior trim components.
This role offers an opportunity to work on new vehicle development programs with leading automotive OEMs and global engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design release activities for Exterior Trim components throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Manage component development from concept to production release.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including DFMEA, DVP&R, BOM, and release packages.
- Coordinate with styling, CAE, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and supplier teams.
- Drive design reviews and ensure compliance with vehicle packaging requirements.
- Support prototype builds, validation activities, and production launches.
- Review and approve supplier designs, drawings, and engineering changes.
- Ensure components meet performance, quality, cost, weight, and timing targets.
- Manage engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and release processes.
- Resolve design, fitment, manufacturing, and assembly issues.

Required Skills
- Strong experience in Automotive Exterior Trim Design & Release Engineering.
- Expertise in product development and engineering release processes.
- Knowledge of plastic injection molded components and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFMEA.
- Hands-on experience with CATIA V5 or NX.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DVP&R, and automotive development standards.
- Ability to work with cross-functional and global teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering.
- Experience working with Automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Knowledge of vehicle integration and exterior systems development.
- Experience in global product development programs.
