Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Academic Dean to lead the academic operations for Classes VI–X. Reporting directly to the Principal, the Academic Dean will be responsible for driving academic excellence, curriculum implementation, teacher development, student performance, and overall instructional quality across the middle and secondary school.
The ideal candidate should possess a strong academic background in Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics, along with proven experience in academic leadership within a CBSE school.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
· Lead and oversee the academic functioning of Classes VI–X across all subjects.
· Ensure effective implementation of the CBSE curriculum and timely completion of the academic plan.
· Monitor lesson planning, syllabus completion, classroom delivery, and instructional quality.
· Promote competency-based, concept-driven, and student-centric teaching practices.
Faculty Development & Academic Quality
· Mentor, guide, and evaluate teachers to enhance classroom effectiveness.
· Conduct classroom observations, academic audits, and performance reviews.
· Identify faculty training needs and organize professional development programmes.
· Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance academic culture.
Student Performance & Assessment
· Monitor student academic progress through assessments, examinations, and result analysis.
· Design and implement remedial and enrichment programmes to improve learning outcomes.
· Ensure high standards in question paper preparation, evaluation, and assessment practices.
· Support students in Olympiads, STEM programmes, foundation courses, and competitive exam readiness.
Academic Operations
· Oversee examination planning, curriculum execution, academic documentation, and quality assurance processes.
· Ensure adherence to academic calendars, school policies, and CBSE guidelines.
· Drive continuous improvement through data analysis and academic performance reviews.
· Collaborate with the Principal in implementing institutional goals and academic strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
· Build strong relationships with teachers, students, and parents to promote academic success.
· Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) and address academic concerns effectively.
· Represent the academic team during school events, reviews, and leadership meetings.
Technology Integration
· Promote the effective use of Smart Boards, LMS platforms, digital assessments, and educational technology.
· Encourage data-driven decision-making and technology-enabled teaching practices across departments.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
· Master's Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
· B.Ed. is mandatory.
· Additional qualifications in Educational Leadership or School Administration will be an added advantage.
Experience
· 8–15 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school.
· Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an academic leadership role such as Academic Coordinator, Head of Department, Academic Dean, or Vice Principal.
· Strong experience in curriculum planning, faculty mentoring, academic administration, and student performance management.
Required Skills
· Strong knowledge of the CBSE curriculum, assessment practices, and academic planning.
· Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team management abilities.
· Strong analytical and decision-making skills with a data-driven approach.
· Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
· Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, LMS platforms, and educational technology tools.
