Job Overview
KCP Eco Energy is looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to lead and coordinate the execution of ground-mounted solar power plant projects.
The candidate will be responsible for supervising site activities, coordinating with engineering and project teams, managing contractors and manpower, monitoring project progress, and ensuring that construction and installation activities are completed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project schedules.
The role requires strong hands-on experience in MW-scale solar EPC project execution and the ability to independently handle site-level technical and execution responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day execution of MW-scale ground-mounted solar power plant projects.
- Plan and coordinate project activities according to the approved project schedule.
- Supervise civil, structural, and electrical installation activities at the project site.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Design Engineers, Structural Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Procurement, and O&M teams.
- Monitor site manpower, contractors, equipment, and material requirements.
- Supervise civil works including:
- Site development and grading
- Excavation and foundation works
- RCC / pile foundation activities
- Internal roads and drainage
- Equipment foundations
- Monitor structural works including MMS erection, structure alignment, module mounting, and related activities.
- Coordinate electrical works including module installation, DC cabling, inverter installation, AC cabling, earthing, LT/HT works, and evacuation infrastructure.
- Ensure execution is carried out according to approved drawings, BOQ, technical specifications, and method statements.
- Review drawings and identify technical or execution-related issues before and during construction.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and ensure work is completed within agreed timelines.
- Monitor daily progress against the project schedule and identify delays at an early stage.
- Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper workmanship and installation quality.
- Coordinate material requirements with the procurement and stores teams to avoid project delays.
- Maintain daily progress reports, work records, inspection reports, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Identify site-level technical problems and coordinate with the relevant engineering team for resolution.
- Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Participate in client meetings, contractor meetings, and project review meetings when required.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong understanding of ground-mounted solar PV power plant execution.
- Knowledge of solar PV modules, inverters, MMS, DC/AC systems, earthing, and HT/LT electrical works.
- Good understanding of solar plant civil and structural works.
- Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings, SLDs, GA drawings, structural drawings, and civil drawings.
- Knowledge of project planning, site coordination, and execution methodologies.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and project documentation.
- Ability to monitor project progress and prepare site reports.
Eligibility
- B.E / B.Tech in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in solar project execution.
- Candidates with experience in ground-mounted solar power plants / solar EPC projects will be preferred.
- Experience handling contractors, subcontractors, and site manpower is preferred.
- Willingness to work at project locations across Tamil Nadu and travel as required.
Preferred Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of site execution rather than only supervise individual activities.
Candidates with experience in 5 MW, 10 MW, 20 MW+ or other utility-scale solar projects will be preferred.
Strong coordination, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills are important for this position.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
