A manufacturing store assistant manages raw materials, components, and finished goods, ensuring a steady supply for production. - Receiving & Dispatch: Inspect incoming deliveries against purchase orders, verify quantities, and check for defects. Ensure finished goods are properly packed and dispatched according to shipping schedules.
- Inventory Control: Track stock levels of raw materials, spare parts, and consumables. Conduct regular physical counts and cycle counts to prevent shortages and resolve discrepancies.
- Production Support: Issue raw materials and components to assembly lines based on approved material requisition forms. Follow First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices to avoid material expiry or obsolescence.
- Warehouse Organization: Label, bin, and store items systematically for quick retrieval. Maintain a clean, secure, and safe environment that complies with industrial health and safety standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Accurately record all inward and outward stock movements. Update Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or inventory management systems and generate reports for the finance and procurement teams. [1, 2, 3]
