We are seeking an experienced and proactive Purchase Manager nutraceutical industry to oversee sourcing and procurement operations. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of nutraceutical raw materials, global vendor networks, and regulatory compliance standards. You will optimize costs, mitigate supply chain risks, and ensure a seamless flow of materials for production.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead the procurement of APIs, excipients, herbal extracts, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and specialized packaging materials.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable domestic and international suppliers. Build strong vendor relationships and conduct regular performance reviews.
- Cost Optimization: Drive price negotiations, evaluate total cost of ownership, and execute cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Regulatory & Quality Alignment: Collaborate tightly with QA/QC and regulatory teams to guarantee vendor compliance, document accuracy (e.g., COA, GMP, DMF), and audit readiness.
- Inventory & Demand Planning: Analyze demand patterns, coordinate with production and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels, and prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Procurement Operations: Oversee Purchase Order (PO) generation, track shipments, and resolve delivery or invoicing discrepancies.
- Risk Mitigation: Develop contingency plans and identify alternate sources to ensure supply continuity despite market fluctuations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or Supply Chain. An MBA in Supply Chain or Operations is highly preferred.
- Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in raw material sourcing and purchasing within the nutraceutical, pharma, or food supplement industry.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of nutraceutical ingredients, global sourcing markets, and compliance frameworks.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Tech Proficiency: Working knowledge of major Enterprise Resource Planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel
