Deccan Infrasolutions & Concretes LLP is a civil infrastructure and precast concrete specialist committed to safe, high-quality construction. We are hiring a Site Safety Officer to join our Boisar project (Aditya Birla Estate) to ensure safe execution of precast compound wall works.
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Safety Officer to be based at our Boisar site. The officer will ensure compliance with safety standards, carry out site assessments, implement safety procedures, and promote a strong safety culture during precast compound wall construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site safety assessments and risk evaluations specific to precast wall activities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety plans, emergency procedures, and SOPs.
- Monitor daily on-site operations to ensure compliance with legal and company safety standards.
- Carry out safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for workers, subcontractors, and visitors.
- Ensure correct use and maintenance of PPE by all personnel.
- Identify unsafe acts/conditions and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate incidents/accidents, perform root-cause analysis, and prepare detailed incident reports with corrective actions.
- Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, and management to improve safety performance.
- Maintain safety documentation, inspection records, permits, and training logs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory regulations (e.g., Factory Act, Building & Other Construction Workers Rules).
- Assist in preparing Method Statements and Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) for site activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Science preferred.
- Certification in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute (e.g., ADIS).
- Minimum 3–5 years of safety experience in construction, preferably in civil infrastructure or precast projects.
- Good knowledge of local safety regulations and codes.
- Proficient in preparing safety reports, risk assessments, and incident documentation.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Languages: Fluent in Hindi and Marathi; basic English desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with precast concrete handling, lifting, and erection safety procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Strong observational skills, decision-making, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, site-based position at Boisar, Palghar, Maharashtra.
- Typically a 6-day work week (as per project requirements).
- May require extended hours depending on site activities.
