The Senior Interior Designer is responsible for managing end-to-end residential and commercial interior design projects, from client consultation and concept development to working drawings and execution support. The role requires strong design creativity, technical expertise, and project coordination to deliver functional, aesthetically pleasing, and execution-ready designs that align with client expectations and company standards.
The Senior Interior Designer also mentors junior designers and ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with minimal design revisions.
Key Responsibilities
Client Consultation
Meet clients to understand their lifestyle, functional requirements, design preferences, and budget.
Conduct detailed design discussions and requirement analysis.
Present design concepts, layouts, mood boards, and material options.
Manage client expectations and obtain timely design approvals.
Concept Development
Develop creative and functional interior design concepts.
Prepare space planning, furniture layouts, and design themes.
Recommend materials, finishes, lighting, color schemes, and accessories.
Ensure designs balance aesthetics, functionality, and budget.
Design Development
Prepare detailed 2D layouts and 3D visualizations.
Develop modular furniture designs, ceiling layouts, electrical layouts, and detailed working drawings.
Ensure drawings are technically accurate and ready for production and execution.
Incorporate client feedback and finalize designs.
Technical Documentation
Prepare and review:
Working drawings
BOQs (Bill of Quantities)
Material specifications
Modular drawings
Hardware schedules
Production drawings
Ensure all documentation complies with company standards and SOPs.
Material Selection
Guide clients in selecting laminates, veneers, acrylics, hardware, countertops, lighting, and furnishings.
Ensure selections align with approved budgets and company material guidelines.
Coordinate with procurement to confirm product availability.
Execution Support
Coordinate with Project Managers, Site Engineers, and Production teams during project execution.
Provide technical clarifications and resolve design-related issues.
Conduct site visits during key execution stages.
Ensure execution matches approved designs and specifications.
Quality Assurance
Review designs thoroughly before releasing them for execution.
Minimize design errors, revisions, and site rework.
Verify that completed work reflects the approved design intent.
Participate in final inspections before project handover.
Team Collaboration & Mentoring
Guide and mentor Junior Interior Designers and Draftsmen.
Review drawings prepared by junior team members.
Share best practices, design trends, and technical knowledge.
Support the Design Manager in maintaining team productivity and quality standards.
Project Coordination
Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Production, and Execution teams.
Track project milestones and ensure timely completion of design deliverables.
Maintain proper documentation of approvals, revisions, and project files.
Escalate risks or delays that may impact project timelines.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong space planning and interior design skills.
Excellent understanding of modular furniture design and detailing.
Knowledge of materials, finishes, hardware, lighting, and construction methods.
Strong presentation and client communication skills.
Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Interior Design or Architecture.
3-4 years of experience in residential and commercial interior design.
Proven experience handling projects independently from concept to handover.
Experience in modular furniture and turnkey interior projects is highly preferred.
