Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Linux Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience in
managing and troubleshooting Linux-based systems. The ideal candidate will have
expertise across multiple Linux distributions, system administration, performance
optimization, and key infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and support various Linux distributions, including server provisioning,
patching, system updates, and performance tuning.
• Perform Linux kernel tuning, memory upgrades, CRON management, and system
optimization.
• Configure and troubleshoot core services such as Apache, FTP, network
services, email protocols, Syslog, NagiOS, and SSL certificate installation on
Tomcat/Apache/Nginx.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell scripting.
• Manage package installations and updates using yum, rpm, and handle version
control using GIT/SVN.
• Configure and maintain storage technologies including LVM, NFS, and SAMBA.
• Support basic database administration tasks for MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues, system defects, and service
disruptions.
• Work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ticketing & Service Request Management
• Log, update, and track incidents and service requests in the IT ticketing system.
• Assign priorities and ensure timely resolution in alignment with SLA.
• Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams or OEM, when necessary.
Maintain clear documentation of troubleshooting steps and resolution
Required Skills
• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems, system internals, and
troubleshooting methodologies.
• Practical knowledge of system monitoring, log analysis, and service
management.
• Effective problem-solving skills with a structured approach to incident handling.
Customer Service
• Provide prompt, courteous, and effective support to employees.
• Communicate resolutions clearly and professionally.
Maintain a strong customer-first mindset in all interactions.
Preferred Qualifications
• Graduate in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Experience or certifications in Windows-based systems, including Active
Directory, DNS, Radius Authentication, DHCP, and network fundamentals.
• Exposure to enterprise IT environments will be an added advantage.
