Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer responsible for product design, engineering documentation, product validation, design improvements, cost reduction and technical support. The role will involve close coordination with customers, production, service, quality and other internal departments to ensure successful product development and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) as per customer requirements and project specifications.
- Prepare packing lists and stuffing drawings for projects.
- Implement design changes based on customer requirements and technical specifications.
- Provide validation support for new products and prepare necessary validation documentation.
- Handle Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Notices (ECN).
- Redesign and iterate existing products to improve performance, quality, reliability and manufacturability.
- Prepare Installation Manuals and Spare Parts Catalogues.
- Provide technical and design support to the Service team for handling customer complaints.
- Analyse customer complaints and prepare CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) reports.
- Develop detailed assembly procedures for products and systems.
- Prepare Assembly Checklists to ensure proper assembly and quality compliance.
- Prepare New Product Validation Checklists and support validation activities.
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through Value Analysis (VA) and Value Engineering (VE).
- Drive parts productivity and design improvements to optimize cost, quality and manufacturing efficiency.
- Analyse feedback from customers, service and internal teams and incorporate necessary design improvements.
- Provide technical support during erection and installation activities at customer sites.
- Coordinate effectively with Production, Quality, Purchase, Service, Projects, Sales and other departments for smooth project execution.
- Prepare foundation and pipeline layout drawings as per project and site requirements.
- Review existing designs and identify opportunities for standardization, simplification and productivity improvement.
- Ensure all engineering drawings, documents and revisions are maintained accurately.
- Provide technical guidance to junior design engineers and support them in resolving design-related issues.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical Design and Product Development.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks / Creo / Inventor.
- Good knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of BOM preparation, engineering documentation and revision control.
- Understanding of ECR, ECN, CAPA, VA/VE and product validation processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of fabrication, machining, assembly and installation processes.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and handle customer requirements.
- Good technical documentation and communication skills.
Qualification
B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience
3–8 years of relevant experience in mechanical design, product development or industrial machinery manufacturing.
Preferred Industry Experience
Candidates with experience in industrial automation, textile machinery, material handling systems, warehouse automation, car parking systems or other engineering/manufacturing industries will be preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
